Modelling Saskatchewan’s longest trestle railway bridge (Meskanaw)

The Meskanaw Trestle was built in 1929 by the Canadian National Railway. It is the longest wooden trestle bridge in Saskatchewan. The last train crossed the trestle in 1979.

This project is in development and projected to be started in the summer of 2024. At this time plans include:

  • digital imaging of the trestle using a drone

  • digital reconstruction of the trestle as it currently stands

  • physical model of the trestle as it would have been when completed

  • museum display

This project is being done with the intention of providing a display for the Melfort & District Museum (melfortmuseum.org)
